With the Bucs trailing the Saints 30-3 in the third quarter Sunday, the team suffered a potentially serious injury as defensive end Will Gholston was carted off the field with a neck injury.
Gholston was rushing the quarterback when he bent over after the play and went to the ground. He moved his arms and legs initially but was quickly immobilized by trainers. Gholston was strapped to a stretcher and carted off the field, with the entire Bucs team encircled around him on the field as he was taken away.
The Bucs announced that Gholston had a neck injury, but made no additional details available.
