Time to Stock Up: After-Holiday Sale
If anything will ease your post-holiday blues, it's a sale on holiday-themed items, like the one through Sunday at Florida CraftArt. The St. Petersburg fine craft gallery is offering a 20 percent discount on holiday-themed items. This is a great chance to stock up on artist-made ornaments, wreaths and decor, like the charming Santa sculpture by Anne Ross Oliva, pictured. 10 a.m.-5 :30 p.m. today-Saturday and noon-4 p.m. Sunday. 501 Central Ave. (727) 821-7391.

Drawn Interest: Anime Day
No matter what level of anime (Japanese animation) fan you are, be it a committed otaku or just an interested newbie, Anime Day is worth checking out. The marketplace features a giant dealer room with a variety of anime, fantasy, comic and hobby dealers. Learn from fan panels, play video games, enter a video game tournament and try to win prizes through raffles and giveaways. There's a costume contest with some guidelines, so visit and click on the Tampa event before you start creating yours. 10 a.m.-6 p.m. Saturday at the Embassy Suites Tampa-Brandon, 10220 Palm River Road. $4 at the door, free for military and kids 10 and younger.

New Digs: Goodwill Grand Opening
If you live in St. Petersburg, you may have noticed the big, brand-new Goodwill store going up on 34th Street. Great news: It opens Friday with a celebration. Doors will open at 7 a.m., but get there early to line up and enter a drawing for prizes including new Amazon Fire Sticks, Echo Dots and iPads. Drawings will happen before the store opens. If you can't get there that early, you'll still have the chance through the weekend to win a new 55-inch HD television. I'm excited at the prospect of what goodies lie inside the 31,000-square-foot space. Bonus: This new facility has a drive-through donation lane. 2550 34th St. N.
