The truth is out there about the new season of The X-Files. And it's good.
Wednesday's premiere shows the series mythology or mytharc both at its worst and best, doling out answers to long-held questions while opening up a dozen more or providing alternative answers no one wants. If you're hoping for all the answers to last season's cliffhanger … well, you'll probably have to wait a little longer.
But what follows the premiere are more classic style monsters of the week: cyber crimes, people with psychic abilities, wacky conspiracies and perhaps a real, genuine monster. "Back to our bread and butter," Mulder quips.
