• Saint Leo University is seeking college-bound high school seniors who want to study computer science or mathematics for a special four-year scholarship and academic program the university has underway.

Saint Leo plans to admit eight high-achieving students as Emerging Math and Computer Science Scholars (EMACS) in fall 2018 at University Campus in east Pasco County. Recurring scholarships of up to $10,000 are available to each admitted scholar as long as academic standards are met. Receiving EMACS scholarships will not prevent students from receiving other financial aid, if they are eligible.

The EMACS program scholarships were made possible at Saint Leo through a grant from the National Science Foundation, awarded to the university to help nurture analytical and technology talent in the next generation.

The first cohort of EMACS Scholars was admitted in the fall of 2017. There will be only two cohorts under this grant. Application deadline for the fall of 2018 is March 1. Students, parents, teachers and guidance counselors are invited to learn more and request a campus tour by contacting faculty member Dr. Vyas Krishnan at [email protected]
