5 under $5: American Stage’s Under 20 Passport begins, Nerf gun wars, meet the ‘ToyMakerz’

1 Under 20 Free Passport: American Stage is starting the year off with a deal aimed at creating young theater fans. The Under 20 Free Passport allows people under 20 to get into mainstage productions at no cost. And a new Under 30 Pass offers patrons younger than 30 unlimited access for mainstage productions, improv, cabaret or American Stage in the Park for $15 a month. Under 20 tickets may be reserved by phone at (727) 823-7529. Rush tickets may also be available without a reservation 30 minutes prior to a performance. American Stage is at 163 Third St. N, St. Petersburg.

2 Dade Battle

Re-enactment: See a day of living history with a fully costumed battle re-enactment (2 p.m. each day), with period soldiers, Seminole and civilian camps, a sutler trade fair, historic arts and crafts demonstrations, cannon firings, barricade building and 19th century games and activities for children. 9 a.m.-5 p.m. Saturday-Sunday. 3 Three Kings’ Day: The Three Kings have arrived at the children’s department in Macy’s at Westfield Citrus Park for a celebration with live holiday music, art, crafts and photos. Noon Friday. 8021 Citrus Park Town Center, Tampa. Free.

4 ‘ToyMakerz’ Premiere Party: Former stunt man, motorcycle racer and custom vehicle fabricator David Ankin, right, has parlayed his life’s work into a business and reality show about custom racing machines and the people who build them. At 6 p.m. Friday, you can meet Ankin and see "the Beast" — a fierce-looking, two-passenger, street-legal car with racing-style seats and a V8 motor just over the driver’s shoulder — at the premiere for Season 2, Episode 7 of ToyMakerz, Velocity Channel’s show about custom racing machines. 5 Nerf Wars: Battle stations! Bring your Nerf blaster and labeled darts and get ready to duck, dive and dodge as the foam flies 10 a.m.-noon Saturday at Safety Harbor’s Waterfront Park, 110 Veterans Memorial Lane. Open to ages 5 and older. $5. (727) 724-1530.
