Taste test: reduced-fat chocolate milk

One of my children loved milk growing up, but the other wouldn’t touch it. The only way to get milk into her system was to mix it with heaping tablespoons of chocolate syrup. After a while, it was just easier to break down and buy chocolate milk. Thankfully, most grocery stores these days offer reduced-fat options of chocolate milk, helping to alleviate a little bit of the guilt. Our panelists sipped eight brands of lower-fat chocolate milk at a recent tasting. They decided the drinks were pretty good, perhaps even good enough to substitute for a bite of real chocolate as an evening dessert.
