Seafood restaurant joins food scene at Harbour Island

Watervue Grille brings fresh seafood with diverse flavors and cocktails to the scenic views of downtown Tampa on the water at Harbour Island.

HARBOUR ISLAND—Fresh gulf seafood joins the food scene at Harbour Island as a new restaurant, Watervue Grille opens this month.

Located at 700 Harbour Post Drive within walking distance from the Tampa Convention Center, Tampa Marriott Waterside Hotel and the Westin Harbour Island Hotel, Watervue Grille has waterfront patio seating, public boat docks and private dining and event space with the best views of downtown Tampa on the water.

"It’s not something we have around here," said events and marketing director Cathy Bellatin. "If you look around downtown there isn’t a seafood restaurant and not one on the water.

"The location is great just being on the water and having more opportunities to relax and just being able to offer guests something unique is exciting."

The restaurant takes pride not only in its fresh seafood, but also in their creative cocktails and wide array of beverages.

The bar features more than 20 taps with not just beer but also wine and one of their signature drinks like the Dolphin Punch.

Signature dishes include the caviar deviled eggs with caviar fresh from Mote Marine Laboratory in Sarasota, their lobster rolls using bread from New England, lobster mac and cheese, grouper tacos, soft shell crab sandwich and cracker-crusted oyster sliders.

Not a seafood fan?

There are alternative steak and chicken options such as sliced beef tenderloin and burrata salad, chilled barbecue chicken wedge salad, peach barbecue grilled chicken, and for vegetarians, entrees like a grilled cauliflower steak.

Watervue Grille is a part of the family of restaurants owned by Andrew Bonnemort on Harbour Island joining Cry Baby Cafe and Cafe Dufrain.

Prices start at $12 for sandwiches and $21 for entrees. Watervue Grille operates for dinner from 5 to 10 p.m. Monday through Saturday, and will incorporate lunch and a Sunday brunch in the near future as well.
