COOL FACTOR: TANK ART SHOW
How cool would it be to ride around on an original piece of art? Motorcycle tank art is a genre unto itself, and having one that an artist has embellished should up the cool factor on any bike. The folks at Grayspeed Cycles agree, so they're having a motorcycle Tank Art Show on Saturday. They've tapped some of the area's most talented local artists for the show, including Bask, Tes-One, Frank Strunk, III and Chad Mize, whose work is pictured. The tanks are available for purchase, and they'll also have a silent auction to benefit CASA. It starts at 7 p.m. at 2060 First Ave. S, St. Petersburg. grayspeed.com.

COLLECTION FACTOR: TRASHY TREASURES
Whether you're looking to start an art collection or add to your existing one, the Dunedin Fine Art Center's annual "art garage sale" Trashy Treasures is the place to be this weekend. It kicks off on Friday night with a party, where a selection of donated art is offered for sale by silent auction. The party starts at 6 p.m. and costs $10 to attend, but that includes a free hot dog and a drink. The rest of the artwork and donated art supplies are up for grabs on Saturday, sold on a first-come, first-served basis from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. 1143 Michigan Blvd. dfac.org.

CUTE FACTOR: TEDDY BEAR AND DOLL SHOWS
Sure teddy bears and dolls are cute and everything, but did you ever consider the artistry involved in making one? It seems difficult to give an inanimate object a personality, but there are so many skilled people creating them that there are two shows in the area this weekend.

The St. Petersburg Doll Club is holding its 37th annual Doll and Bear Show and Sale on Saturday at the Minnreg building in Largo. They'll offer appraisals and on-site repairs. 9:30 a.m.-3 p.m. at 6340 126th Ave. N. The suggested donation for adults is $4, free for children 12 and younger. (727) 384-1708.

The Teddy Bear Show returns to Tampa on Sunday, bringing hundreds of handmade, one-of-a-kind teddy bears (how do you choose?) to the Crown Plaza Westshore (5303 W Kennedy Blvd.). It runs 10 a.m.-3 p.m. and admission is $6. bright-star-promotions.com.

CAT FACTOR: HELLO KITTY CAFE TRUCK
Ok, I know, I know, Hello Kitty is not a cat, she's a girl. But she looks an awful lot like a cat, which has to be part of the reason for the Sanrio character's cult following. The mania of which is so great, fans wait all year for the Hello Kitty Cafe Truck to pop up somewhere. Good mews (see what I did there?) — it's returning to International Plaza's Bay Street on Saturday! It's a rare opportunity to get limited edition collectibles, like this adorable bow-shaped water bottle and fun T-shirt. The truck will be parked outside Urban Outfitters from 10 a.m.-8 p.m. 2223 N Westshore Blvd., Tampa.
