SOUTH TAMPA ó A healthy way to enjoy desserts while remaining sweet and delicious has debuted in Soho, and customers love it.
The latest Ciccio Restaurant Group concept, Sweet Soul, launched its health-conscious concept last month at 1101 S. Howard Ave., just south of Ciccio Water and a few blocks north of another CRG concept, Fresh Kitchen.
From its unique charcoal and matcha soft-serve ice cream, to its signature, customizable acai bowls and its smoothies, Sweet Soul offers all vegan, paleo and plant-based items that benefit the body whether it be weight loss or strength.
The health-food restaurant originated around superfoods, and aims to make its customers more health conscious and provide a better understanding of a paleo-diet and veganism.
"The main goal is to tell people that living a healthy lifestyle doesnít mean you donít have to go on certain diets," said Taylor Winter, owner and managing partner.
"Everything we have is good for your health and gluten-free."
The key to its popular vegan soft-serve ice cream is that itís coconut -based, which benefits the body because itís easily masked and does not compete with other ingredients.
Its smoothies are a combination of fruits and veggies such as the Summer Bod which includes apple, spinach and kale, or the Donít Kill my Vibe, a tropical mix with pineapple, kale and avocado.
They use sugars like honey, dates, agave and maple and are locally sourced using superfoods right from their backyard where they grow avocado, lemons, kale, pineapple, strawberries, mangos and more.
Prices range from $3 to $12 and they operate Tuesday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 8:30 p.m., Saturday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. and Sunday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
