As promised, here is the letter to Gov. Rick Scott and the legislative leadership in the issue of arming school employees.
It splits the difference in the debate, opposing the arming of teachers but supporting the right districts would have to opt in or opt out of the proposed Coach Aaron Feis Guardian Program. Again, as board member Cindy Stuart said and Sheriff Chad Chronister confirmed, that isn't likely to happen in Hillsborough.
The letter also calls for mental health resources and the protection of per-student education funding.
