1 Chasco Fiesta Street Parade: The 70-year-old festival is the biggest event of the year in New Port Richey. The nine-day event opens Friday with a midway and Native American festival. Saturday brings a street parade starting at 1 p.m. with 40 professional floats, pirate krewes and plenty of beads on Main Street and Grand Boulevard. Free. 2 Seminole Pow Wow Festival: There will be a full-scale carnival with rides for kids of all sizes, games, live music, food by Seminole area restaurants, a fire truck pull, soccer dog show and a parade. Free admission; ride wristbands $15 to $45. The Black Honkeys will headline the opening night concert Friday. The Pow Wow runs 6-11 p.m. Friday, 11 a.m.-11 p.m. Saturday and Sunday. 3 Playing! Unplugged: Subtitled "Just What the Doctor Ordered," you wonít find a TV or electronic game anywhere at this giant outdoor play date at Largo Central Park. Hop from station to station for hands-on activities and games using items such as cardboard boxes, fabric, buckets, ropes and paintbrushes. 5 Kerouac Night: The Beat Generationís literary star is said to have had his last drink at the Flamingo Bar in St. Petersburg, above, before he died in 1969 at St. Anthonyís Hospital. On Saturday, Keep St. Pete Lit will celebrate Jack Kerouac on what would have been his 96th birthday with poetry readings, music and raffle prizes from local writers and artists.
