The Rays and Red Sox played to a 6-6 tie Thursday at jetBlue Park in Fort Myers.
Chris Archer emphasized his changeup and allowed two runs in three innings. He felt he could have returned for the fourth and threw 10 more pitches in the bullpen.

Matt Andriese allowed one hit in 1-2/3 innings. He entered in the fifth inning with runners at second and third, traded a run for an out on a grounder to short, then ended the threat with a strikeout.
Ryan Yarbrough struggled in his 1-1/3 innings. He allowed three hits and two runs.
The Rays led 3-0 after one when Johnny Field doubled and scored on a single by Adeiny Hechavarria and Wilson Ramos drove in two runs with an opposite field double to right field.
Field had two doubles, with both hitting the Green Monster South in left.
Hechavarria had two hits. Matt Duffy had a hit and scored a run.
