16 great albums that turn 30 in 2016

30

December

If you're a long-time reader of Stuck in the '80s or listen to the podcast often enough, you'll know that I largely consider my beloved '80s to have passed away after Live Aid in the summer of 1985. And yet, when you look at the albums released the following year, I realize my decade wasn't quite dead - but perhaps still at the beginning of its death rattle.

The year 1986 marked my first full year of college, and I was more obsessed with listening to older music (and occasionally cracking open a textbook) than I was with exploring newer music. To this day, I only own TWO albums on the following list.

Here, dear friends, are what I believe to be the 16 best albums turning 30 years old this coming year (ranked by release date).
