Scott Baio is 45 ... and scintillating
For those of you out there with lives that don't revolve around cable channels 40 through 256, here's some interesting news: Scott Baio has a new reality show on VH1.
The show's title -- "Scott Baio is 45 ... and Single" -- tells you everything to know, except whether it's worth watching. Here's the answer to that: Hell yeah!
Appearing in TV's Happy Days (1977-84) to Joanie Loves Chachi (1982-83) to Charles in Charge (1984-90), Baio was one of the signature '80s icons. And while it's somewhat shocking to learn he's a lifelong bachelor, the stories from his far-from-celibate life are paradise for couch potatoes.
Viewers who caught the show's first episode learned:
Joanie really did love Chachi. Baio lost his virginity to co-star Erin Moran (who complained afterward that his "Little Chachi" was less than impressive.)- Baio's list of future conquests features some high-profile names, including Heather Locklear, Pamela Anderson and Denise Richards. (Clearly, "Little Chachi" grew up.)
- His new "life coach" is forcing him to revisit all his old flames as a way of understanding his fear of commitment. So stay tuned for more embarrassing details to come in future weeks.
How realistic is it? I don't want to know, and frankly, I'm not sure I care. Just give us more cameos with his former co-stars and keep the sex stories coming. We're pulling for you, Chachi.
