Oh, fuuudge. A new edition of Christmas Story

Christmasstory

Because you can never own enough versions of your favorite movies on DVD, here's the latest news: There's a new deluxe edition of the classic A Christmas Story due out this week.

The 25th anniversary edition includes a ton of cool stuff though, so even if you own an older version, this one might be a little too tempting. Among the new features:

  • A two-disc DVD set featuring an audio commentary with the stars and director.
  • A 50-page recipe book.
  • Five cookie cutters geared toward fans (the leg lamp, bunny suit, house, turkey and star).
  • A custom chef's apron.
  • A cute cookie tin canister.

The new edition is available Tuesday (Nov. 4), with prices starting at $39.99. Some websites are touting free shipping. Amazon.com still has the previous edition for sale if you want to skip the extra and save $20.

RELATED QUESTION: OK, so the holiday season is fast approaching. What topic should the Stuck in the '80s crew cover for Thanksgiving and Christmas this year? We've already covered Planes Trains and Automobiles (for Thanksgiving) and A Christmas Story and holiday songs in previous years. That leaves us with a few more movies to consider, including Scrooged and Christmas Vacation. Thoughts? We'll take the best suggestions and run with them.
