The Mac is back to the velvet underground
It's been a while since we last rejoiced at news of a reunion tour, so savor this tasty tidbit: Fleetwood Mac has announced plans for a big reunion trek across North America this spring.
So far, only the March dates have been announced (beginning March 1 in Pittsburgh and finishing up March 26 in Toronto). No Florida dates yet, but keep your fingers crossed. The "Unleashed" tour coincides with the band's release of a greatest-hits album.
"We love our band and think the title of the tour, 'Unleashed,' perfectly describes how we all feel when we get on stage together, especially in 2009," the band said on their official website. "We're so happy to get back out on the road, perform everyone's favorite songs and see our fans."
The band lineup is expected to include Lindsey Buckingham, Stevie Nicks, John McVie and Mick Fleetwood. Whether the reunion will attract Christine McVie, who left the group in the late '90s, remains a mystery.
The band also announced that its 1977 Rumours album is set to be re-released as part of a CD/DVD box set, and will included previously unreleased tracks and never-revealed footage of the group.
