They Might Be Giants is never far from the heart of a true '80s aficionado. Just look through your CD collection: You'll find that beloved copy of their Lincoln album wedged in right next to U2's Under a Blood Red Sky and their self-titled debut disc mistakenly stuck inside the cover of Depeche Mode's Some Great Reward.

So here's some good news for fans up in the Northeast: The two Johns are staging an encore performance of The Flood Show at New York City's Le Poisson Rouge on Feb. 28. TMBG, joined by their infamous Tricerachops Horns section, will perform their Flood album in its entirety along with "a series of songs guaranteed to delight even the most hardened recidivist," the band said in an e-mail today.

For you TMBG newbies out there, Flood was the band's big breakthrough disc and the first album produced by a major label. Recorded in 1989 and released in 1990, it had hits like Birdhouse In Your Soul, Istanbul (Not Constantinople) and Particle Man. But the other songs are gems, too, making this NYC show a must-see.

Sadly, the constraints of our economic depression prohibit me from making the trip. (And I blew the entire annual budget of SIT80s on the Rubik's Cube stereo speaker.)
