I was made for loving ... not Kiss

Kiss-Dynasty What album ushered in the '80s for you? A lot of you might pick Dirty Mind by Prince, or The River by Bruce Springsteen. Remain in Light by Talking Heads anyone? Maybe you transitioned from one decade to the next with The Game by Queen. It's all good.

For me, unfortunately, it was Dynasty by Kiss in 1979. Not because I loved it. I hated it, and it killed the '70s and my childhood infatuation with Kiss. After hearing the dreadful I Was Made For Loving You, my life was never the same. Soon I was freebasing Cornerstone by Styx and having a brief but torrid love affair with Prog Rock before eventually slipping away blissfully into New Wave.

A story in this week's Stuck in the '80s podcast unveils the classic shame of my Kiss days as well as a few other tales worth your time. The overall topic of the podcast? Oh, I don't want to ruin it for you.
