The Cure's Robert Smith is about to turn 50!?!
Robert Smith of The Cure is many things, but potential cover model for the next edition of AARP isn't one of them, right? Smith turns 50 on Tuesday, April 21, but that hasn't slowed down one of our favorite '80s mope-sters.
Smith and his bandmates play Vegas tonight and the Coachella Music Festival in California on Sunday. Meanwhile, here in Tampa Bay, local bands are planning their own tribute show Saturday at Skipper's Smokehouse in Tampa. Bands like My Little Trotsky and Rancid Polecats will fill the air with Cure covers all night. It's another great show by the mighty WMNF. Check our Soundcheck local music blog for details. In the meantime ...
