Want to see Heaven 17 this summer? Bad news
Heaven 17 is officially off the Regeneration Tour for 2009, tour organizers have announced. It seems that it's that familiar old reason -- "financial considerations."
It's a pretty common hurdle for U.K. acts trying to tour the States. Just about every British musician I've interviewed has mentioned it as the No. 1 reason they can't cross the pond more often to support new albums and projects.
According to the official Regeneration Tour website, the tour will proceed as four-band shows in venues where Berlin is scheduled to play along with ABC, Wang Chung and Cutting Crew. (That includes the Chicago tour stop, which is this year's official Stuck in the '80s get-together.) At other cities, other bands will be booked to flesh out the bill, most likely Missing Persons.
Don't forget to e-mail me if you're interested in attending the Chicago tour stop and want details on any possible meet-ups
