First, Glee captures the true essence of Journey's Don't Stop Believing in Fox's amazing pilot episode. And then Wednesday night, they again capture the pure ... umm, bawdiness? ... of Salt-n-Pepa's 1987 hit Push It. (Here's another less grainy look.)

What's next? Channeling Dee Snider on We're Not Gonna Take It? Maybe a little awkward white-boy dancing on Let's Hear It For the Boy? I'm not changing the channel anytime soon.

Entertainment Weekly, on the other hand, thought Glee maybe "pushed" it a bit too far. "I was kinda shocked by how raunchy it was for network television," EW blogger Tim Stack wrote. "There were definitely some heads bobbin’ up and down and butt slappin’. It was all in the name of comedy, though, so maybe the FCC doesn’t care so much."

I didn't think that was the worst offense. There was a line about being the "biggest c--k on the walk" that really caught me off guard. How did that get past the censor?

Still can we just ignore that and applaud the continued infatuation with '80s music? I'm still waiting for the promised "All Billy Joel" episode. A chorus version of Pressure could be really fun.
