It's 'True'! Spandau Ballet to release new music
Are we living in a golden age of '80s magic or what? This just in from Britain: Spandau Ballet is back in the studio and plans to release a new single in November.
It's been 20 years since the last new recording from the band, which reunited this year for a world tour beginning Oct. 13. (No U.S. dates yet.)
“When we got back together and the tour dates went on sale, none of us could believe the fantastic reaction we got from fans and the press alike. When the opportunity came to get into a studio and play music together, we couldn’t pass it up," singer Tony Hadley said on the band's official website.
“The band gelled immediately and we immediately played better than we did even back in the day," bandmate Gary Kemp added.
Spandau Ballet appeared on British TV this morning to say they are releasing a new single -- Once More -- and a new album of the same name on Mercury Records in November. The album will have two new songs along with reworkings of classic Spandau Ballet tracks.
It's already available for pre-order online (via Amazon or the official Spandau Ballet store). Another bonus: Visitors to spandauballet.com can register for a free download of Only When You Leave.
