'80s Weekend at Beach Theatre: Five classic flicks at '80s prices

Caddyshack

A weekend of '80s movies -- life is good. The Beach Theatre has announced its lineup for '80s Weekend, which runs Friday through Sunday (Oct. 2-4) at its St. Pete Beach location.

The five flicks are: Caddyshack, Robocop, Red Dawn, Rocky III and Raiders of the Lost Ark. The best part: '80s prices for tickets too. Admission is $3 for each feature. And yes, Babe Ruth candy bars are available at the concession stand for Caddyshack. (Doooo-dy!)

Here are the showtimes. Check the theater's official website for more information:

ROBOCOP (R):  Fri: 2 PM, Sat: 5:15 PM, Sun: 2:45 PM
Why you should see it: It's practically a documentary on crime-ridden Detroit. Now you see why Axel Foley ("Achnell? ... Achwell") wanted to stick around in Beverly Hills.

RED DAWN (1984) (PG-13) Sat: 2:30 PM, Sun: 7:45 PM
Why you should see it: Because you'll want to rise out of your theater seat and yell along with Harry Dean Stanton: "Avenge me, boys! Avenge me!"

ROCKY 3 (PG) Fri: 7 PM, Sat: Noon
Why you should see it: Aside from crying like a baby when Mickey dies, it's worth it to see Hulk Hogan as Thunder Lips.

RAIDERS OF THE LOST ARK (PG) Fri: 4:30 PM, Sat: 8:15 PM, Sun: Noon
Why you should see it: Because it's been 20 years since Harrison Ford has made a movie that was worth paying for.

CADDYSHACK (R) Fri: 9:30 PM, Sun: 5:15 PM
Why you should see it: Because we are members of the human race. Jeesh. Do you really need a reason to see Caddyshack again? Remember to cheer along with Rodney at the final line: "Hey everybody, we're all gonna get laid."
