New Freddy Krueger doll is the stuff of real nightmares
The new Freddy Krueger figure -- back in the day, we called 'em action figures! -- is out, and it's far more ghoulish than the 1984 Freddy. (And you thought your old Darth Vader and stormtrooper toys were menacing.)
The head of product development at NECA, the company that's producing the new -- can we just call it a doll?!?, told Figures.com that fans can expect a figure of the original Freddy too, marking the film's 25th anniversary.
NECA is also planning on releasing a Jason Voorhees figure. The original Friday the 13th turns 30 freaking years old in 2010. (Yikes, that feels just like an arrow through the throat, doesn't it, Kevin Bacon?)
Meanwhile, the remake of A Nightmare on Elm Street, starring Jackie Earle Haley (he's still "Moocher" to me) as Freddy, is set for a April 30, 2010 release.
