Billy Idol could be Aerosmith's new lead singer?!?
This is just plain bizarre: Billy Idol is one of the names Aerosmith is considering as a replacement lead singer.
Guitarist Joe Perry and the band reportedly are ready to start auditioning lead singers to replace (at least temporarily) Steven Tyler, who has been sidelined by rehab stints and medical problems.
Among the names in the mix: Lenny Kravitz, former Queen singer Paul Rodgers ... and Billy Idol.
"Joe said he wanted to talk to Billy about joining Aerosmith, because the band were having problems with Steven. As far as I know Idol did not show up due to having a cold," a source told Classic Rock magazine.
Perry has admitted to talking to other singers, but hasn't named names. "(There's) a few people we've talked to, and we'll see how it goes."
