Annie Lennox is a university chancellor now?!?

Singer Annie Lennox is indeed a university chancellor now. Would I lie to you?

The BBC reports that the musician has been named head of Glasgow Caledonian University, thus becoming the first woman in the role. (Established in 1993, Glasgow Caledonian has campuses in Glasgow, London and New York.) She'll be installed this coming summer.

According to the report, the role involves largely formal and ceremonial duties, including awarding degrees to students and promoting the school.

Lennox found international success along with music partner Dave Stewart with the Eurythmics during the '80s before heading out on a solo career in 1992.

Sure, David Warner was great in ‘Times Bandits’ but …

I did it again. On the most recent episode of Stuck in the '80s, I made a quick and unplanned comment about Time Bandits, and I've been bum-rushed by the '80s intelligentsia, demanding I retract any negative feelings toward the 1981 flick. Stop the e...
