Bon Jovi tops fan poll for Rock Hall of Fame

Maybe Bon Jovi won't have to live on a prayer to get into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. The feathered-hair-band so popular in the '80s finished atop the fan vote for the Rock Hall's Class of 2018.

According to Teamrock.com, Bon Jovi had 1,162,098 votes. Other top 5 finishers were the Moody Blues (947,726), Dire Straits (613,726), The Cars (552,707) and Judas Priest (538,467).

Though all five bands will be named on just a single ballot among 900 other ballots cast, it should be noted that the fan favorite has been inducted each year since the category began back in 2013. The fan vote has helped critically unhip (but fan-favorite) bands such as Kiss, Rush and Journey gain admittance to the Cleveland institution, which has received its inductees over the years.

The final list of inductees will be announced later this month. Other nominees include: The Zombies, Eurythmics, J Geils Band, Depeche Mode, Nina Simone, Kate Bush, Radiohead, Rage Against The Machine, MC5, LL Cool J, Sister Rosetta Tharpe, Link Wray, Rufus featuring Chaka Khan, The Meters.
