Great Scott! Michael J. Fox is coming back to network TV in February. Granted, it's just a five-story arc on ABC's Designated Survivor, but we're thrilled nonetheless.
According to Deadline.com, the former Family Ties and Back to the Future star will play a Washington lawyer hired by the president's cabinet to serve as a special prosecutor.
Is Fox's role a good guy or bad guy? It's too early to tell, but it's hard to imagine Marty McFly as a true villain. The acting stint reunites Fox with fellow '80s actor Kiefer Sutherland (who plays President Tom Kirkman).
Fox, whose acting career slowed down the past few decades as he's battled with Parkinson's Disease, has been a popular guest cast member on several recent TV shows, including The Good Wife and Curb Your Enthusiasm. Fox won multiple Emmy's and Golden Globes for his work on TV's Spin City in the early '90s.
Designated Survivor returns to ABC on Feb. 28. You can catch up with the series on Hulu.
