When the band Raydio is mentioned, most consider it synonymous with the solo work of Ray Parker Jr. as the band went from being billed as “Raydio” in 1978 with “Jack and Jill” from “Ray Parker Jr. and Raydio” in 1980 with Two Places At The Same Time.

Two Places At The Same Time hit No. 30 on the charts and the video features both Ray Parker Jr. and Jerry Knight on vocals. After the breakup of Raydio, Knight would go on to the become the “Jerry” part of duo “Ollie & Jerry” that hit the Top 10 in 1984 with Breakin’There is No Stopping Us Now from the movie Breakin’ which features, you know, break dancing.

All four Raydio albums from 78 to 81 went gold before Parker Jr. decided to go solo in 1982 and hit big with The Other Woman and then eventually his signature tune Ghostbusters in 1984.
