'Blade Runner' sequel has a title and publicity pic
So many sequel rumors swirl around Hollywood that we've gotten in the habit of just ignoring all the noise. But the Blade Runner sequel, which brings back Harrison Ford as Rick Deckard, not only has a name - it has a publicity pic with some of the cast and a release date.
The movie will be called Blade Runner 2049 and will star Harrison, Ryan Gosling, Jared Leto, Robin Wright and Ana de Armas, says the Hollywood Reporter. Alcorn Entertainment released this photo of director Denis Villeneuve, original film director Ridley Scott, Ford and Gosling hanging out together. (Presumably Harrison is patiently explaining his need to reprise his Indiana Jones role to the skeptical crowd.)
The official release date is Oct. 6, 2017 (which is almost two years before the date when the original 1982 movie was set.)
