Cheap Trick feud could spill over on Rock Hall of Fame induction night
Cheap Trick is happy to be the newest member of the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, but that might be about where the happiness ends. In a brand-new interview with Rolling Stone magazine, Bun E. Carlos says the friendship between him and the band is long over.
“Me and the singer (Safety Harbor’s Robin Zander) don’t get along very good,” Carlos told the magazine. “A couple of days before Austin City Limits in 2010, we had a big argument on the phone about scheduling for the summer and all this kind of stuff.”
In the end, it was agreed that the band would tour without Carlos, but he’d still get paid for being one quarter of the band. When the checks stopped coming, Carlos sued the band in federal court.
“We did a settlement last spring and its all hunky dory,” Carlos said.
Daxx Nielsen, song of guitarist Rick Nielsen, now is the touring drummer for Cheap Trick.
But will Carlos perform on stage in April when the band is inducted?
“Yeah. As far as I know,” Carlos said.
We shall see. Listen to our previous inteview with Robin Zander on the Stuck in the '80s podcast.
