Christopher Cross 2017 tour includes several Florida dates
Looking for that perfect Valentine’s Day gift for the significant other? Might I suggest a ticket to see Christopher Cross in Clearwater on May 5? It’s honestly "the best that you can do." Your love life will - wait for it - "never be the same."
All kidding and puns aside, when you name-check the biggest artists of the ‘80s, Christopher Cross has to be one of them. His 1979 self-titled debut album scored him five Grammy Awards, including record of the year, album of the year, song of the year and best new artist.
Soap fans will remember him for Think of Laura, which became the love theme for General Hospital’s Luke and Laura. Boaters tend to navigate more toward Sailing. And for the rest of us, there’s always Ride Like the Wind.
Cross has continued to record and put out music his fans love, including his 2014 album Secret Ladder. If you catch him in 2017, expect a show filled with songs throughout the decades.
Right now, fans in Florida have a few chances to catch Cross. He’s playing on the ‘70s Rock and Romance Cruise out of Fort Lauderdale March 15-16, May 3 at Ponte Vedra Concert Hall, May 4 at The Plaza Live in Orlando and now a May 5 date at downtown Clearwater’s Capitol Theatre.
Tickets for the Clearwater show go on sale Saturday, January 28 at 10 a.m. and are priced at $89.50, $59.50 and $49.50.
(By the way, Cross' birthday is just two days before the Clearwater show - he turns 66 on May 3 - so be sure to wish his a happy birthday.)
