At 65, Kim Carnes has more than just 'Bette Davis Eyes'

Kim Carnes' raspy Bette Davis Eyes as part of the soundtrack of the early '80s. The first single off her 1981 Mistaken Identity album spent nine weeks in the No. 1 spot on the charts, making it THE tune of the year.

(In case you're wondering, Endless Love by Diana Ross and Lionel Richie was the No. 2 song of 1981.)

But how well has the song aged? Probably not as well as Carnes herself, who turns 65 years old today, giving her more than just the actress's eyes. (Oh, I kid. She looks great in photos I've seen.)

According to legend, after the song became a hit singer, Bette Davis herself wrote to Kim Carnes, thanking her for making her "a part of modern history."

Check out Kim's official website to see some of her original artwork, which is her main muse these days, and get the latest updates on music projects.
