Are these really the 10 best love songs from '80s movies?

Officer and a GentlemanHow much time do you spend thinking about love songs in the '80s? Probably not much. Well maybe you should today because Flavorwire has just released its Top 10 List of Love Songs from '80s Movies.

There are some obvious picks in there. Some are cringe worthy. Others are probably totall inappropriate. (Cry Little Sister from The Lost Boys?) But what I want us to focus on is this: Which important songs are missing?

Here's the Flavorwire list.

10. “Up Where We Belong” — Joe Cocker & Jennifer Warnes [An Officer and a Gentleman, 1984]

9. “Edge of Forever” — Dream Academy [Ferris Bueller's Day Off, 1986]

8. “Cry Little Sister” — Gerard McMann [Lost Boys, 1987]

7. “In the Air Tonight” — Phil Collins [Risky Business, 1983]

6. “If You Leave” — OMD [Pretty in Pink, 1986]

5. “Power of Love” — Huey Lewis & The News [Back to the Future, 1985]

4. “Don’t You Forget About Me” — Simple Minds [The Breakfast Club, 1985]

3. “(I’ve Had) The Time of My Life” — Bill Medley & Jennifer Warnes [Dirty Dancing, 1987]

2. “Take My Breath Away” — Berlin [Top Gun, 1986]

1. “In Your Eyes” — Peter Gabriel [Say Anything, 1989]

Let me say right off that I agree with Nos. 1 and 2 for sure. But there are a TON of better songs missing from the list. Your mission, should you choose to accept it: Pick the REAL top 10 love songs from '80s movies.
