Aussie earworm: GANGgajang's 'Sounds Of Then'
Warning: This song by the awkwardly named GANGgajang will rattle around your skull for quite some time. Though it's titled Sounds of Then, you're more likely to remember the chorus ... "This is Australia."
According to our Stuck in the '80s friends down under, this song became an unofficial anthem for Oz back in the '80s. And damn well it should. I love the lyrics.
"Out on the patio we'd sit,
And the humidity we'd breathe,
We'd watch the lightning crack over cane fields
Laugh and think, this is Australia."
The band itself formed in 1984 and is still around today. In fact, they just announced a reunion show for October. Check their official website for more info.
