B-52s' Fred Schneider talks live albums, REM's breakup and the real words to 'Thriller'

fred.jpgB-52s' Fred Schneider has been on the wish list for a Stuck in the '80s interview. But even more so after we caught their show live at the Hollywood Bowl back in early September. They blew EVERY ONE away.

So I'm pretty envious that our good friends the Culture Brats scored a chat with the B-52s frontman, who is promoting the band's new live album, With The Wild Crowd: Live In Athens Ga. Click here to read the full interview, but here are three answers that stood out to me.

ON FINALLY DOING A LIVE ALBUM: "We've done live albums before, but one was stolen and two were... the tapes were totally flawed for some reason that they didn't check."

ON ATHEN'S R.E.M.'s BREAKUP: "I had no idea R.E.M. were about to break up. I'm sure it's basically they want to pursue other projects. But you never know, they might get back together and do something."

THE REAL WORDS TO M.J.'S THRILLER: "Whenever I think of Thriller, I always think he's saying, 'Because it's Phyl-lis! Dil-ler.'"
