Bananarama today announced a short U.S. tour for October, which includes a stop in Tampa on Oct. 5. Where in Tampa? Well, the band's official website doesn't give out any of the venues, but we've confirmed it's at the Seminole Hard Rock Cafe in Tampa. (In fact, all the dates appear to be at Hard Rock locales).

Tickets for the Tampa date are $15, with a portion of the proceeds going toward American Cancer Society's Making Strides Against Breast Cancer. They go on sale Thursday at 10 a.m.

The British group formed as a trio -- Siobhan Fahey, Keren Woodward and Sara Dallin -- back in 1979, but these days is touring as a duo with just Woodward and Dallin. (Fahey left in the late '80s and returned for a reunion in 2002.) In case you're wondering where you've seen them lately, Bananarama performed at the men's final of the beach volleyball competition at the London 2012 Summer Games. They also had a new greatest-hits CD -- 30 Years of Bananarama -- come out in July.

Their appearance at the Hard Rock is part of the company's "Pinktober" campaign.

“Everyone knows someone whose life has been affected by breast cancer,” said Dallin, co-founder of Bananarama. “So when Hard Rock offered us the opportunity to take part in Pinktober and support a great cause in a fun way, we jumped at the chance.”
