Best Batman ever? Vote in our poll, where 1989's Michael Keaton is surprise leader
Remember how you felt back in the late '80s when word came out that not was Batman being redone by Tim Burton ("the Pee-wee Herman director?") but that Michael "Mr. Mom" Keaton was being cast as the Caped Crusader?
Crushed. Dismayed. Like totally bummed out.
Turns out it that 1989's Batman was one of the best of the bunch and set the standard for the franchise. So with The Dark Knight Rises coming out this week, I devised a poll to help us figure out -- at least informally: Who was the best Batman (and Catwoman) of all time?
And you know what? Despite the brilliance of Christian Bale's recent turn, as of this morning, Michael Keaton was the leading vote-getter.
As for Catwoman, my favorite one didn't even make the final list. I was all in favor of Sean Young being cast, especially after she wigged out and started showing up on talk shows already dressed for the part in a last-minute effort to campaign for the role. Mistake, Hollywood! She was puuurfect for the job. (Sorry. Got carried away. I just really liked her in No Way Out.)
Click here to vote. You won't break my heart if you don't vote for Keaton. I will, however, question your tastes if you vote for George Clooney.
