Bob Geldof says the worst two songs in history are ...

Bob Geldof has fallen on his sword. The godfather of Live Aid has told the Australian media that he is "responsible for two of the worst songs in history."

"[One is] Do They Know It's Christmas? The other one is We Are The World," he tells Australia's Daily Telegraph. "

Whoa, whoa, whoa, there, Bob. The '80s generation LOVES Do They Know It's Christmas. Granted, some of us only TOLERATE We Are The World. So why so angry?

"Any day soon, I will go to the supermarket, head to the meat counter and it will be playing. Every [expletive] Christmas," Geldof explains.

Really? Because here in America, we usually get saturated by Christmas Wrapping by The Waitresses. Must be a cultural thing.

Sad to say, the Irish singer -- who actually co-wrote the UK tune with Midge Ure in 1984, says he's particularly irritated when holiday carolers stop by his house to perform the song each December.

"They think Do They Know It's Christmas? is as old as Silent Night," Geldof told the paper. "Sometimes I think that's wild because I wrote it. Or else I am thinking how much I want them to stop because they are doing it really badly."
