Born with a Silver Spoon - 37 years ago
He used to hate being called "Ricky." But earlier this year, he gave up on the fantasy of people merely thinking of him as "Rick." Even so, I'm pretty sure this photo would drive Lil Ricky Schroder crazy. But hey, it's your birthday, ya wee rascal. And even if you're 37 now, you'll always be "Ricky Stratton" on TV's Silver Spoons to 80s addicts.
Rick's gone overboard trying to erase the memory of his childhood career. Check out some of his latest work:
- Crimson Tide (1995): Does anyone remember him as "Lt. Paul Hellerman?" I don't.
- NYPD Blue (1998-2001): More than 60 episodes as Det. Danny Sorenson.
- Face of Terror (2003): "I go where the fight takes me!" You tell 'em, Ricky!
Ricky is listed as No. 18 on VH1's 100 Greatest Kid Stars. That puts him one behind Molly Ringwald, but well ahead of Corey Haim, Alyssa Milano and Lisa Whelchel. Can you believe Anthony Michael Hall is way back at No. 41? (Who's No. 1 on the list? Gary Coleman of course.)
