Brat-Packing in Ireland
You know what I was thinking earlier this morning: How come we never hear more from our old friend Andrew McCarthy? Sure, we pan his last 80s effort -- Fresh Horses -- every attempt we get. But he gets a free lifetime pass thanks to Class, Pretty in Pink and St. Elmo's Fire.
Turns out Andrew's enjoying life. He recently returned from a trip to his ancestral land of Ireland. He even documented the trip on Yahoo's Trip Planner. (Click here to read it.) He also penned a piece for National Geographic's Traveler magazine.
Sounds like Andrew had a great time: "There are three pubs in town, and if it’s a night out with good drink, good company, and burning music you’re looking for, you can’t go wrong walking into any one of them, on any night of the week."
No word on his favorite Irish hangover remedies, but we'll stay tuned. In the meantime, Andrew reportedly is filming The Spiderwick Chronicles, a drama/fantasy, along with Nick Nolte and Mary-Louise Parker. The film has a tentative release date of 2008.
