Bret Michaels tells Oprah he wore his bandana in hospital bed
It's official: America has adopted the ailing Bret Michaels as its "puppy of the year." The proof? The Poison frontman appears on The Oprah Winfrey Show on Wednesday! It's his first TV appearance since he fell ill in April, but it appears he's on via satellite and not live in the studio. (Click here to watch a very short clip.)
During their chat, Michaels tells Oprah that he knew something "was severely wrong" when he suffered a brain hemorrhage last month, according to Entertainment Tonight.
But the near-death experience wasn't enough to make him shed his signature bandana in the hospital bed.
"I said, 'If I'm going out, I want to go out rockin',' " he told Oprah. (Either that or he didn't want to go out sporting his baldy look, which the bandana conceals. Either way, no shame.)
The rocker/reality star -- he made the finals for Celebrity Apprentice (it airs May 23) -- will return to performing on May 28 in Biloxi, Miss. He'll play a free concert in St. Petersburg after the Rays game on Sept. 25.
