Captain EO, R.E.M., Tears for Fears and a fan pleads for a 'Youngblood' podcast

Captain_EO This morning's '80s news blast:

... Michael Jackson lives on! Well, as Captain EO at Disneyland.

... Five things you probably didn't know about missing Growing Pains actor Andrew Koenig. (No "Boner" jokes? I can't promise you that.)

... R.E.M. raises $1 million for Haiti with its all-star version of Everybody Hurts.

... Tears for Fears will do one concert in the U.S. (Los Angeles) before heading off on a tour of Asia and Australia.

... Did you catch the highly edited concert by Devo at the Olympics last night? How was it?

TODAY'S E-MAIL BLAST ... is from "Captain Pittsburgh," who writes: "your podcast of the Miracle on Ice brought back a flood of memories, with the game itself being one of my very first memories and the last time I would see my late father cry in front of me. The domino effect from that hockey game led to the election of Ronald Reagan, to the collapse of the Berlin wall, and to the fall of the Soviet Empire. I think you should now consider doing a Youngblood podcast, or at least a Rob Lowe podcast with Youngblood prominently in display."

I love Youngblood, Captain! Patrick Swayze, Rob Lowe and the very sexy Cynthia Gibb. I'll never look at a water bottle the same way again. Here's the trailer from the 1986 movie.
