Cheap Trick to play 'Dream Police' show for New Year's Eve
Cheap Trick is playing its Dream Police album in its entirety this New Year's Eve at Jannus Live in St. Petersburg. But that's not all, the band's performance will be augmented by an 18-piece philharmonic orchestra and "mind choir" -- poised above the stage.
That seriously threatens to ruin my streak of truly-awful New Year's Eve events. (Last year, I watched a Journey DVD and fell asleep at 9.)
This "Dream Police" show already reportedly enjoyed a sellout tour through the Midwest, but we're glad Robin Zander, who lives right here in Tampa Bay, saved us for last. We're told Cheap Trick will also play "a generous portion of their rich, platinum-selling catalog, including hits I Want You to Want Me, Surrender, The Flame and others."
Now about the price. Okay, early bird tickets are $100 -- wowsers! -- but that does include all you can drink. And Cheap Trick fans, I know, will get their money's worth.
