'A Christmas Story 2' coming soon: This is NOT a joke
There's a sequel to A Christmas Story? Yes. With Daniel Stern stepping in for Darren McGavin as "the Old Man." The silver lining: A Christmas Story 2 not coming to theaters but instead going straight to Blu-ray on Oct. 30. (Seriously? It's worthy of Blu-ray?)
Here's the actual promotional news release and synopsis:
"This sequel to the beloved 1983 holiday favorite finds Braeden Lemasters (Easy A) stepping in for Peter Billingsley as young Ralphie Parker, a 1940s-era Midwestern teen who experiences one misadventure after the next during the Christmas season."
From Warner's official synopsis: "The original, traditional, one-hundred-percent, red-blooded, two-fisted, All-American Christmas continues five years later with Ralphie (Lemasters), Randy (Valin Shinyei, This Means War), Mom (Stacey Travis, Traffic), and the Old Man (Daniel Stern, Home Alone). This time, Ralphie has his eyes fixed on a car. But trouble is sure to follow."
It's time to draw the line, '80s fans. A boycott for A Christmas Story 2! Who's with me?
