Geri Jewell Facts of Life bookYou take the good, you take the bad. You take them both and there you have ... another celebrity memoir from the Facts of Life gang. This time it's Geri Jewell, who I honestly don't remember from the show. (Hey, I'm a purist. To me, it'll always just Blair, Jo, Natalie and Tootie.)

Jewell played "Cousin Geri" on the series for 12 episodes from 1980 to 1984. Her new book, I'm Walking As Straight As I Can, talks about her struggles with cerebral palsy (which her Facts of Life character openly coped with -- a first in TV history) and, for the first time, she admits to being gay, according to those who've read it.

Due out April 1, the book reveals the discrimination Jewell faced in Hollywood and her fear of revealing her sexual identity, Popeater says. "The journey continues as she examines the struggles that almost ended her life, including tax problems, a broken marriage and drug addiction."
