Danny DeVito, Rhea Perlman call it quits after 30 years
Danny DeVito and Rhea Perlman are kaput?!? We stopped beliving in the sanctity of celebrity marriages back when Burt and Loni broke up, but this news just sickens us. That's 30 years of holy matrimony that was just washed away.
"The twosome first got to know each other when both were coming up in the TV world," E! News reports, "and were already a couple when Perlman landed one of her first notable roles as Zena, the girlfriend of DeVito's character Louis DePalma on Taxi, before she shot to fame as sarcastic waitress Carla Tortelli on Cheers."
DeVito is the one breaking the bad news, according to reports. We still don't know the reason, but this being Hollywood, we'll hold our breath and count to three while waiting for the usual "irreconcilable differences," which by no coincidence was also the title of a 1984 movie starring Ryan O'Neal and Shelley Long, who starred with Rhea on Cheers, and really that's totally a meaningless coincidence -- I'm just reaching.
