David Lee Roth on Van Halen tour postponement: 'We bit off way more than we could chew'

Nobody, least of all Van Halen fans, was shocked when the band announced last week that their summer tour will be halted after June. We heard rumors of fights. Of health problems. Of just the boys being boys.

Now David Lee Roth has come forward to explain things. Well, sorta. If you believe him.

"As usual, we bit off way more than we could chew when it came to scheduling," Roth says in a video reportedly filmed near in the woods near Minneapolis with his dog. "The band is winning, but our schedule has been sidelined for unnecessary roughness."

The Huffington Post wisely went a step further, finding a quote from former frontman Sammy Hagar. Sammy's take?

"They're hard people to get along with, those brothers," Hagar told the Associated Press on Friday. "Otherwise I'd still be in the band."
