Did Steve Perry ask for reunion with Journey?!?
The Steve Perry and Journey reunion rumors seem to be an annual phenomenon. Just like the World Series. Or a prostate exam. The latest example: London's Daily Star is reporting that Perry asked to rejoin the band after seeing the cast members of Glee sing Don't Stop Believin'.
Other reports say his request came after he sang the same tune for fans of the San Francisco Giants after the clinched baseball's title over the Texas Rangers.
The London article even had a response from Journey guitarist Neal Schon, who said, "He seems to be enjoying the spotlight a little too much. The fact is he’s no longer the lead singer. He walked out."
Well, yes and no. Like life itself, it's never that simple. But what does make it ultimately more complicated is that Journey has a lead singer (Arnel Pineda) that they seem very happy with. The band has also announced plans for an album and tour in 2011.
Bottom line: It's cool that people are still talking about it, and that reunion rumors are still circulating after all these days. In this crazy world of reunions and big-check concert gigs, don't stop believing, but it's gonna take a lot of lovin', touchin' and squeezin' between Neal and Steve before this is ever a done deal.
