Don't lose your hair: Split Enz is back!

Twenty-two years after they broke up, the Kiwi theater-popsters Split Enz are back. The band announced this week that they'd do a five-gig arena tour in Australia in June.

While no other dates were announced, band member Tim Finn told Billboard magazine that he's like to hit L.A., New York, London and the band's original stomping ground in New Zealand. Though the band has had more than a dozen lineup changes through the years, Billboard reports that the band's most successful grouping of musicians will be included in this new tour.

Rumors of a reunion have been circulating for several years but picked up steam in June after the band was inducted into Australia's recording hall of fame.

Though Split Enz is credited with influencing the New Wave music movement in the 80s and other genres of music (including that of Nirvana), the band's greatest commercial success came in 1980 with the album True Colours and the single "I Got You." The band called it quits in 1984, though several members went on to form the band Crowded House.

Was the band tempted by the fruit of a profitable reunion?

"We are a band that plays for each other, with each other and of each other," Enz singer Finn told reporters in Melbourne. "It’s not about what will make us money or what might do well for us."
